A Night At The Cinema

Miracles happened when I was bout to accept a hard fact. It was not something very awful though. But the fact that I nearly had to spend a silent Christmas at home ALONE is a pain in the ass.

"Lonely, lonely Christmas... Merry, merry Christmas..."

True enough when things are at its worst, there'll be a turning point.

I managed to book tickets for Avatar through GSC phone reservation on Christmas Eve. Yahoo! Since my bro and his gal didn't have any plan to themselves either, the 3 of us went to the movie the night after. Errr... Yeah, I became the "lamp post" again as usual. Who cares?

*oolalala*

We were almost late to collect the tickets. Supposedly not. We could easily reach within 20 minutes. But then, all the cars along Jalan Bukit Bintang were heading towards Pavilion. Holy crap! Took us an hour to crawl from Starhill to Menara Genting.

Believe it or not?

At that point of time, I was seriously worried that we would never be able to get a car park and make it to the cinema on time. Juz when we were bout to give up, a half empty parking space opposite Menara Genting caught our attention. As the others were still hunting for a car park, we were already on our way to the cinema. Mission possible!

Avatar is really outstanding. Couldn't agree more. I love the graphics so much. Splendid! Congrats to James Cameron. He did it again. I wished I could watch it in 3D. My friends are telling me the effects are exceptional. Some of them watched it for 3 times. Oh my... Everyone is now obsessed with the Navi's.

It was 12.20am when we left the cinema. The decorations at the entrance were still bright. Surprise surprise... We thought our plan to take photos that night was shattered as we didn't have time to do so before the movie. The lighting would normally turned off before 11pm.

*snap snap snap*

These are the contributions of my 3.2mp phone camera. Fairly acceptable.

Thanks to bro and Sze Yi for making my Christmas night so wonderful. What will I be doing for New Year?

Question remains unanswered...

It's Christmas

I'M B.A.C.K.

Back to my long-abandoned blog.

There's such a long list of things that I would like to blog bout. A whole month of events and happenings. But I don't think I manage to do so. Or should I say... I'm too lazy?

*nodding head*

Whatever it is, I don't wanna miss out blogging bout my best friends aka seniors' birthday. One of the first happiest thing that happened after my miserable ACCA exam.

It was last Friday when we celebrated Phui Mun's belated birthday and Poh Yee's advanced birthday at Canton-i, The Gardens. These cousins were born in the same month, same year. Their age? Err... I don't think I'm allowed to tell the secret. Make your guess. LOL...

I had never been to Canton-i before this. Their interiors resemble a lot like those Hong Kong restaurants that we can see from TV.

Our food from left to right:
1. Jasmine jelly, sea coconut, fungus with iced jasmine tea
2. Wantan noodles with roast pork belly and sui kow dumplings
3. Pomelo and mango sago cream

While waiting for our food to be served, let's camwhore ^^

Ambient environment and good food. The price isn't that cheap but it's worth the taste.

Overall rating: 9/10.

After we finished our lips lickin good noodles and desserts, came the second round. Let the celebration began. I present you the birthday gals...

PHUI MUN & POH YEE

Happy birthday to you,
Happy birthday to you,
Happy birthday to Phui Mun & Poh Yee,
Happy birthday to you.

A not so successful self-shot groupie

Yeah! Wishing you gals a brighter future ahead and lots of blessings from health and happiness wise. Sisters forever!

My ever cutie seniors

Here's the birthday chocolate logged cake Ivena bought from a bakery in Jusco.

Before & After

Looks so yummy huh? That's what exactly we had in our mind. But not till we had our first bite of the cake. Yucks... It was SALTY.

No joke. Serious.

The baker must have mistaken the salt as sugar. Gosh... It was the worst cake I ever had in my life. Unforgettable!

Anyway, everything turned out to be fine except for the cake.

Couldn't resist ourselves from those Christmas decorations in the Center Court. It's so grand. Taking photos with such decorations made me feel as though I'm the princess of ancient time in Rome or something. Haha.

That was not all. While on our way to the parking lot, we had a few more shots in The Gardens too. The white butterflies hanging on those Christmas trees are so attractive. Speaking of Christmas, it is now.

MERRY XMAS, everybody!
Ho ho ho...

Big Spender

OK... Another post from me today.

You must be thinking I'm bout to talk on money matters, judging from the title above. Nope. Wrong!

*buzzer rang*

Not money wise, but time wise.

From my previous post, supposedly I have mentioned bout how I love to watch dramas. Did I? Or did I not? Never mind. Refer to this.

Old habit doesn't change in a night's time. In my case, I think it's getting off hand. I have been watching too many dramas lately and I don't seem to be able to resist myself from the temptation of Youtube. Too convenient huh? By just one click, I could find a playlist with a whole set of drama. Damn!

Here goes... The dramas that I'm done with for the past 2 weeks.

1. Hot Shot <籃球火>

2. Mysterious Incredible Terminator <霹靂MIT>

3. Knock Knock Loving You <敲敲愛上你>

4. Together <愛就宅一起>

5. Hi My Sweetheart <海派甜心>

As you can see... All these dramas aren't new, except for Hi My Sweetheart. Guess I'm too left-out for all these years and now I'm trying to catch up with the flow in a hurry. Oh no... Please no... Not this way... Not now!

Dramas are driving me INSANE.

Any cure for such addiction?

Someone gotta give me a hard blow on the head.

Sweet Escape

Back with some updates.

2 weeks have passed. Only 2 more weeks left, to be precise 12 days including today. Well well... Speaking of my progress, I would say I'm doing way behind schedule. 3 reasons:

First, I spent too much time watching dramas. Heck... I kinda hope I'm a time traveller. Travel back to 2 weeks ago and seriously start my revision all over again!

Second, I tend to procrastinate while doing my reading. Frequent toilet breaks, snacking, day dreaming, FACEBOOKING???

Third, my irregular bedtime. Worst among all. I'm gradually turning myself into a zombie. Getting to bed at 6am, rise and shine at 3pm. Duh... Maybe this is the reason why large pimples start growing on my face and my eye bags are getting darker each day. Yes, I look horrible these days.

Current status report... stu-DYING!!!

*sigh*

Anyway, I was able to take a few hours off from home, from books to watch a movie with Poh Yee yesterday. It was a sudden decision though. Planned to do it today but Pavilion GSC has very few remaining seats for The Twilight Saga New Moon. Been waiting for months to watch Bella, Edward and Jacob again. Ngek ngek ngek (n_n)

Apparently, guys are not in favour of the show. Only girls are crazy over it. Because of Robert Pattinson? Errr... Maybe. But not solely. I mean if you are asking me, my answer is both YES and NO. It's undeniable Robert Pattinson appears to be almost every girl's dream man ever since his first debut in Twilight. Besides, I'm truly madly deeply in love with the story line. The books are simply amazing. Far better than the movies to be honest. Thanks to Stephanie Mayer for bringing Twilight to life.

Reflection... Purple vs Purple

Before heading to the cinema, we actually spent bout an hour photo shooting at the entrance and the centre court. Muahahaha... The Christmas deco is irresistible.

I'll let the photos do the talking.

Me, Myself & I

Roommate, Poh Yee

Too bad we don't have a high resolution digital camera. All the photos taken are quite blur but still acceptable. Be satisfied with what we have, eh? LOL...

This is my favourite deco.
Santa's sleigh and the reindeers. Hohoho...

By the way, I bumped into Jia Lun, his sis and Shi Teng. What a small world! The first thing he said to me, "We are supposed to be doing revision at home and yet we bumped into each other in Pavilion!" That's so true.

Drama Queen

Bet there won't be any interesting events to be blogged bout these days. Less than a month before ACCA exam comes alive! Suppose to be working hard on my short notes and mental preparation. But instead, I'm "boiling" dramas at home. LOL...

I did study at night. Mostly after midnight. My usual exam routine. Before I go to bed, I'll browse my Facebook and watch some dramas or videos to relax my mind.

Dramas on air recently are really inspirational. Hence, I'm all again addicted to dramas. The drama queen is back into action! A new drug. A new temptation. Oh shit... Facebook alone is enough to keep me away from books. Now, drama comes into picture.

I'll never be able to escape from THE DEVILS.

*sigh*

Anyway, here's the list of dramas I'm following...

1. Beyond The Realm of Conscience <宮心計>

2. Born Rich <富貴門>

3. Autumn's Concerto <下一站,幸福>

4. Easy Fortune Happy Life <福氣又安康>

5. Black & White <痞子英雄>

Getting so into their OST too, especially those in Autumn's Concerto and Easy Fortune Happy Life. I juz love their lyrics and melody. Bring me that kind of "swaying" feel. Been listening to the songs over and over again.

OMG... Something is so wrong with me!

For god's sake, I'm totally helpless. A freako.

Great dramas make great days, but worst exam results. Isn't a fair trade... (T.T)

When There's No Tomorrow...

2012 is such a hit these few days. There are people talking bout it everytime, everywhere. Been trying to log into GSC website since last Friday. But failed to even make an online purchase. OMFG! Reminded me of Transformers.

Fine.

Both Poh Yee and I waited till this morning to try our luck. She took a day leave to return her convo attire. So, I drove her to college before we shot off to Midvalley.

Hmm... Don't get us wrong. We are not so crazy over a movie to actually queue for tickets as early as 9.45am. But these people...

Speechless.

It was not time to start business yet. But the queue has already reached the McD entrance. Can you believe it? I took these photos when Poh Yee and I were still enjoying our breakfast at McD.

One word... RIDICULOUS!

Anyway, we managed to get our tickets for 11.45am.

Sign of victory (n_n)v

Still early after my appointment with Dr Suresh. Yeah... I had my retainer adjusted again. Spent the next hour reading at MPH. Not reading alone of course. Haha.

*wink*

You know me!

Girls day out.

Tick tock tick tock... Time for the most important agenda of the day. The most anticipated movie of the month.

Hall 1 was almost full. Only a few seats in front remained unoccupied. Imagine that! It was 11.45am and the hall was 97% occupied. Mind you... The audience were not only students but working adults. I wonder how they sneaked out from work to be in the cinema with us. Annual leave? Duh...

Never mind. None of our business. Took another photo together before the show rolled.

It started off with a man named Adrian in a taxi on the way to visit a friend in India. A little talking between them before his friend brought him to an underground lab. There's this 6000 feet tunnel filled with boiling water somewhere in the lab. I didn't know what it means. Not till Adrian is being introduced as a geology specialist to the US President. Obviously, Obama is not in the film but his look-alike. LOL... From there, the 2012 mystery is slowly unfolded.

Tears drop on my cheeks from time to time. Hell touching. Put yourself into the shoes of people in the movie and you'll understand. 2012 is not even here yet. Who knows? Sorry for my stupid thought. But what if? What if it's true? What are we gonna do?

Enjoy life while you can, guys... Do everything you wanna do...

Hunt for food right after. Planned to savour Nando's. While on our way, we walked pass this restaurant called The Spaghetti Farm. Newly opened. So, we gave it a try.

Nice environment. Price is still reasonable. Range from RM8-RM13 per plate of spaghetti. Add on RM3.20 for cream soup and soft drink. Chicken ham carbonara for me. Chicken bolognese for Poh Yee. Taste okay. Maybe we were hungry then.

Almost 3.30pm when we finished lunch. Time for home. Traffic jam would be starting soon. Off to our car. But before that, dropped by at Memory Lane. Their cute looking soft toys seduced us in. Ngeks...

2 "big" kids in store...

Party People

First time celebrating Desmond's birthday since he transferred to GAP KLCC sometime in June 2008. Knew him for bout one and a half years. But we are like long time buddies. Who would resist his friendliness and humorous personality?

OK, enough with the compliments. Back to the main subject.

Function: Desmond's pre 24th birthday party
Date: 4 November 2009
Time: 11pm - 4am
Venue: Neway Karaoke, Times Square

My outfit for the night. Black was the theme.

Picked up Bro Kit as usual, followed by Ying, the birthday boy and Pui Yee. Reached Times Square around 9pm. Alex and Chun Kit were already there before us. While waiting for those in the noon shift to finish work, we had a few rounds of bowling and basketball games at the arcade.

GAP "kids" on the run...

Head count before we went into our room. 1...2...3...4...5.......15? Was assigned to room No.2. To my horror, it was the room that we been into during Ying's birthday. OMG... What a coincidence!

Started off with some familiar songs. Desmond took position as the lead singer. The night solely belonged to him. We let him do whatever he wants.

Here are the different categories of photos taken for the night. Featuring...

The SINGLES

The DOUBLES

The GROUPIES

Birthday cake was delivered at 2am. Birthday song was played. Birthday boy made a wish and blew off the candles.

HAPPY 24th BIRTHDAY, Desmond!

May you live life with great joy and good health.

Birthday routine done. Time for trick or treat. Woohoo... How the game went bout?

All of us were given a poker card each when we entered the room. The birthday boy named 2 poker cards of his choice, then picked 2 mystery boxes prepared by Bro Kit. The ones holding the respective cards would opened the boxes to find out their tasks.

Suspense arising...

Khairul & Bro Kit were the organisers with Celyn and Zue, the card holders. Celyn had to drink 2 cans of Tiger beer that she unwrapped from her box. Still OK. But Zue? Oh my... Had to drink beer from a baby potty. Gosh!

As the night moved on, more people were drunk and more crazy stuff could be seen.

Desmond's secret affair with Alex and Khairul.

ROFLMAO...

Obsession

Arrghh... Long hours of revision classes stopped me from blogging for a few days. Sorry for the late updates. Kinda busy, errr... I supposed VERY BUSY should be more appropriate to be used. Will get things done fast here.

Movie lure came possessing me again. Thanks to my lil bro for asking me to a movie with him and his girl of course. LOL... He wished to watch Phobia 2. But too bad, it was not up for screening yet on Tuesday. But good for me!

*smile with satisfaction*

Jennifer's Body as a substitute. He could keep Phobia 2 for his later date with Sze Yi. Oh ya... That's her in the photo below.

Me being a lamp-post??? Maybe... ^^

Enjoyed watching Megan Fox in action though. As usual, she remains sizzling hot, looking at her best for her role as Jennifer. The only difference is she shows her fangs whenever she goes hungry. You know what happened next? Prepare to lick your lips as you see her ripping off those poor guys' tummy and drank their "delicious" blood to sustain her beau. Eww...

A total different version of Megan Fox. But still, guys out there adore her to the max.

Right right?

Let's continue the excitement with the second movie, The Time Traveller's Wife. A romantic story bout a couple whom the husband is a time traveller. Disappeared to the past or future beyond self control. Now you see him, now you don't. Sounds cool but only God knows how the wife suffered from loneliness and insecurity whenever she found her husband is gone without being informed of where he went to.

So, the moral of the story:

"DON'T simply leave your wife all by herself"

Coming up next... Desmond's birthday blast!

Exploring Big 4

Some of you must be wondering what the heck Big 4 is. As for accounting students, I don't think further explanation is needed. Straight away these few famous accounting firms would come popping into mind...

PwC
KPMG
Ernst & Young
Deloitte

Yeah, we juz visited one of the Big 4 on Monday. Located next to Sri Pentas and 1U.

GIRLS... Aren't you excited? *wink*

A bit of an intro here. The building has 2 towers. One belongs to IBM and the other belongs to KPMG. There are many other tenants around. KPMG only occupies 6 floors. Their exterior and interior are simply amazing. Professional yet stylish.

The photos alone are very captivating. What bout seeing it with your own eyes?

Upon arrival, we were being welcomed by their HR staff. The first agenda of the tour was a seminar by Ms Peggy from the tax department. Have you get the idea where we were supposed to be heading to? The meeting room.

So, up we went to the 10th floor. Woo...

Saw the portrait of 9 ladies and gentlemen? They are our successors, the current FAS committee. Looking suave in their formal attire. Oh... By the way, this office visit was their first activity. I would say it ran smoothly under Ms Geh's guidance. Kudos juniors!

Some refreshments were provided at the end of the day. Tasty pastries and hot coffee. I personally love the custard puffs the most. Yum yum...

A quick shot of everyone before we left. Nice one!
